A Catholic prayer for the dead – for those with no one to pray for them

A Catholic prayer for the dead – for those with no one to pray for them

The mission of the Centre for the Art of Dying Well is to support people to live and die well and be supported in their grief. Here we offer a Catholic prayer for the dead who have no one to pray for them.

A prayer for the dead for those with no one to pray for them

With the care of people who have died with no one to pray for them we offer the following prayer:

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

The Centre for the Art of Dying Well works with partner organisations who support our mission to help people to live and die well and to be supported in their grief. This support is particularly important for people dying on their own in hospital or in a care home with no one to comfort them.

Working with the Guild of Our Lady of Ransom
